Gallery Extraña was founded by artist and curator Aimee Friberg and artist and Emily the Strange creator Rob Reger in the spring of 2008. Its mission is to showcase contemporary work by emerging, mid-career and established artists primarily from the Bay Area and the west coast. Gallery Extraña is also an alternative film screening and performance space, committed to showcasing experimental film and video works. The Gallery is open by appointment and during special hours during select exhibitions.
